The Better Half...

We the men love our spouses, partners, sisters, and mothers.

Honestly love is the most beautiful feeling that can be there, but when possessiveness creeps in, there is something seriously wrong. So this is to remind all my fellow men she was never your better half and she never will be, you may be in a relationship with her but she was never yours and never will be. There was a purpose why she came and there is a purpose why she left or will leave. So while she is with you enjoy the moment, make her feel special, cherish her company and then rest is fate…

(Before you read ahead let me warn you, this is one strongly worded poem, so if you are easily offended please do not read ahead. When the problem is bitter, the medicine needs to be bitter too, kindly look at the intent and do not interpret the content.)

The Better Half…

The man from ages gone,

In verse after verse,

Glorifies her as his better half,

Thou art more no more than a fool,

For, she is not yours to complete.

She belongs to the universe,

She is his better half,

And his plan she will fulfil.

She knows no love,

She knows no hate,

She just feels Universe’s joys and pains,

So even when you break your vow,

She cries for a while and moves on,

But you first rejoice and enjoy,

Then you cry and for the entirety of your life you cry,

Anyway, she was never yours to be,

She belonged to the universe,

And his bride forever she shall be.

Yes, indeed you, did she use,

But that does not give you the right to abuse (her),

For if indeed,

If a 12-year-old Jorge[1] had not lost in love his hope,

We would never have had a loving and humble Pope.

Universe has his plans,

Good and bad both are his,

Love and lust can’t them conquer,

One for her chastity[2],

The other for her Country[3],

Accepted baptism by fire.

They did not deserve a consequence so dire,

But then who are we to Judge?

When Universe from its plan not budge.

Stop calling her your better half,

She never was yours

And never yours shall she ever be,

Stop regretting, stop forcing,

Stop abusing, stop using,

She came for a purpose,

She left for a purpose.

Whether your heart she gave a joyful stroke,

Or it in a million pieces she broke.

She is the better half of the Universe,

She will fulfil his purpose.
